During the usual gynecological examination, we perform a colposcopic examination of the cervix, in order to identify and treat any diseases of the cervix. During colposcopy, we carefully examine the cervix, vagina, and vulva, for signs of disease.

In addition to the usual gynecological examination, we recommend that patients undergo colposcopy if the Pap test shows any abnormalities. If an unusual cell area is detected during the colposcopy, a tissue sample can be collected for laboratory tests (biopsy).
